Unleash your creativity on Dress Special Day

Do you sometimes feel bored wearing the same office wear and school uniform day after day? On Dress Special Day, you can wear something different!

The Community Chest first introduced this fund-raising event in 1993. Since then, Dress Casual Day has become one of our most popular annual events. The number of participants is increasing every year.

Recent changes in office dress codes in Hong Kong have prompted the working public to dress casual to work. Therefore, Dress Casual Day was renamed Dress Special Day in 2006. Participants are encouraged to dress in themed costumes, or dress up as their favourite cartoon or movie character to spice up the workplace or school enviornment. To increase the involvement among the younger generation, students can enrol through their schools. There is no minimum contribution set for students to participate.

Dress Special Day has set the record for raising the most donations in a single day — with the support of over 450,000 participants, more than HK$20 million has been raised. In the past couple of years, The Community Chest has joined hands with local emerging designers and young animators, who bring an extra oomph and vibrance to the event.
