Generosity Tops Records

Hong Kong is truly a small city with a BIG heart. Through the fund-raising events held by The Community Chest, people of Hong Kong have made it into the Guinness Book of Records THREE times.

On 6 March 1977, the Kowloon Walk for Millions attracted 57,000 supporters — breaking the world record for the most participants in one charity walk, and earning its very first entry in the Guinness Book of Records. This was followed by HIGHEST amount of money raised in one charity walk on 2 December 1979.

On 29 December 2002, Dance for the Chest saw over 12,000 participants line-dance together for 7 minutes and 40 seconds under the supervision of dance tutors and officiating guests at the Happy Valley Recreation Ground. The event raised HK$4,680,000 and earned the Chest its third entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
